The month of Yule logs is over, the month of king cakes has been digested, but the festivities are far from over. Make way for pancakes with Chandeleur, and hearts and chocolates with the month dedicated to Cupid and Valentine’s Day. So, what are we doing in February? We’re celebrating love, of course, but that’s not all! Here are 7 things to do this month in Marseille!
1) Watch the OM-OL match at the Stade Vélodrome on February 2
It’s bad enough they don’t have the sea or the sun, but the Lyonnais might not be able to win on February 2, 2025 either! If you like to feel the suspense that keeps an entire stadium on its toes, shout at the referee or jump up and down to show your joy at seeing your team score, you’ve got to go to the Stade Vélodrome! Whether it’s the atmosphere created by the fans or the footwork of Olympique Marseillais, you won’t get this much excitement even at the movies!
2Take advantage of fine winter days to visit the Château d’If and the Frioul Islands
Are you familiar with Alexandre Dumas’ Count of Monte Cristo? If you haven’t read it yet, we highly recommend you see the film released in 2024, starring Pierre Niney – it’s simply incredible! Action, costumes, emotion! Anyway, that’s not the point. All this to say that it’s thanks to the story of Monte Cristo that Château d’If has become so famous! If you love history and adventure, this is the island for you. If you love deserted beaches and exploring on foot, the Frioul Islands are the place to be! Either way, you’ll be amazed by what awaits you!
3See the Gims concert at Le Dôme on February 5
“J’me tire”, “Sapés comme jamais”, “tu vas me manquer”, we’ve all heard them at least once. You might even find yourself knowing the lyrics by heart! And that’s just as well, because Gims is coming to Marseille to sing with us on February 5, 2025! This artist, who has made a name for himself to the point of releasing a documentary on Netflix, is internationally renowned! He’s one of those French-speaking singers you hear on the radio when you go shopping abroad, and he’s even performed in New York! And we’re telling you because we’ve already seen him in concert: he knows how to set the mood! If you’d like to see other artists, we’ve got the list of concerts for 2025!

Depending on your desires, your personality and your sensibility, these places can vary and be declined ad infinitum! Here’s our non-exhaustive list of the most romantic places in Marseille to take your loved one… And maybe propose to her? Let’s face it, it’s Valentine’s Day!
6 – Extend the joys of winter with the Cassis ice rink
It’s become a real winter tradition in Cassis, just a stone’s throw from Marseille! We usually go there to see the calanques, but in winter there’s plenty to see and do! The ecological skating rink will entertain young and old until February 23, 2025. On this 180 m2 synthetic skating rink, with no ice and no electricity, you’ll have more than enough to improve your triple axel (don’t forget your gloves!)!
