Despite the wind, the festive atmosphere continues to make Marseille shine! We invite you to put on your best coat and the bonnet your mother just gave you, before heading out to see what’s going on near you! After all, there’s nothing like a good walk to digest those 6 Christmas meals (friends, family, second side of the family, in-laws, second side of the in-laws, neighbors…). So that you can make the most of your loved ones, we’ve listed the top activities for this Christmas week!
Try a game immersed in a funfair setting
Who will be the master of the attractions? That’s the question posed by Expédition Marseille, a new indoor immersive play area inspired by the world’s greatest funfairs! It’s the biggest funfair of the moment in Marseille. In an immersive setting, teams test their skill, logic and team spirit with challenges typical of traditional fairground stalls. A game to discover with family, friends or colleagues, perfect for immersing yourself in the magic of the festive season.
Experience the magic of Candlelight concerts with thousands of candles
Do you love the glow of Christmas lights? We’ve found another way to put stars in your eyes. Surrounded by thousands of candles, Candlelight concerts let you discover your favorite bands performed by classical musicians. An experience to offer yourself or as a gift!
Stroll the aisles of Christmas markets and santon fairs – until January 5, 2025
What would the festive season be without Christmas markets and santon fairs? A must-do activity for kids, lovers and families alike, they’re a great way to stock up on gifts and delicacies (no, it never ends, and so much the better)! We recommend the santon and Christmas markets on the old port, open daily from 10am to 7pm, and until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays! It’s never too early to buy next year’s santons!
Add a little music to the festivities
On December 28, the Christmas fanfare returns from 2pm to 6pm to brighten up the town! They’ll be on hand in front of the Tourist Office to delight your eyes and ears! You too can brag about having been there! (you might even want to join the band).
A family activity with the Medrano Christmas Circus
Until January 5, 2025, Cirque Medrano returns to Marseille’s Prado beaches with a special Christmas edition! Discover mysterium: the magic grimoire. Trapeze artists, clowns, acrobats, tightrope walkers and more await you for a colorful show!
Stay warm at home and bake Christmas shortbread
When winter comes and the days get shorter and cooler, we like to take refuge in the warmth of our own homes. And to turn up the heat a bit more, we turn on the oven and bake up some easy Christmas shortbread, for which we’ve provided the recipe below!
