If you’re strolling down Boulevard Jeanne d’Arc, there’s no hint of what’s going on behind the door. A true institution in the world of live entertainment, Cabaret L’Étoile Bleue—located just a stone’s throw from La Timone—has drawn more than 35,000 spectators since it opened and puts on nearly 150 performances a year, offering a mix of dinner shows, live singing, and acrobatics that completely breathe new life into traditional cabaret. It’s one of Marseille’s most welcoming spots for a festive evening that’s truly out of the ordinary.
A century-old Italian-style theater tucked away just a stone’s throw from La Timone
Built in 1925 as a parish hall and movie theater under the name “Jeanne d’Arc,” the venue belonged to the diocese before hosting the Théâtre Comédie Marseille for twenty years. Manoah Michelot took over the space in 2021 to give it a new lease on life. The entire roof structure had to be rebuilt, and 20 contractors had to be coordinated during a five-month express renovation. Today, the 250-seat theater has been restored to its former glory with its period balcony, dressing rooms, and stalls.
As an added bonus, the venue features a cozy bar that opens onto a tree-lined garden. This outdoor space, perfect for enjoying a drink, offers a welcome breath of fresh air right in the heart of the city.

Original productions and the 10-year milestone at Cepac Silo
Manoah Michelot creates original revues here, such as *Rivages*, *Disco Bleu*, and *Revue 3 2 1 Chantez!*, which blend dance, comedy, and circus acts based on Mediterranean themes. The stage also showcases local drag performances by renowned artists such as Miss Martini and Madame Douillette.
The troupe is also preparing for a major milestone: to celebrate its tenth anniversary, it will take the main stage at Cepac Silo in January 2027 with the show “Mano fait son show.” The event will bring together more than 25 artists for an evening blending music hall classics, pop culture, live singing, circus acts, and drag performances.
When Jazz Takes Over the Theater’s Velvet Upholstery
With The Jazz Room, the venue takes on the feel of a 1950s New York club. Groovy tributes to legendary artists make every brass instrument resonate beneath the high ceiling, offering crystal-clear acoustics and a contagious energy that immediately makes you want to snap your fingers.

Local secrets and familiar faces
The venue also holds some amusing secrets. The stage is located directly beneath the railroad bridge connecting La Blancarde to La Capelette, which sometimes causes slight vibrations. Above the stage, a statue of Joan of Arc still watches over the performers—the only decorative remnant preserved from the old theater, along with a few historic seats on display.
To mark this wonderful revival in Marseille, the iconic Zize Dupanier even came to serve as the event’s patroness, bringing her legendary sense of humor.
