The best time to see the lavender in bloom in Valensole and practical tips
The lavender fields of the Valensole Plateau generally begin to bloom in late June. However, the blooming period may vary slightly depending on weather conditions. The ideal time to see the fields in full bloom is therefore from late June to mid-July. This is when the fields display their most beautiful colors. Shades of purple and blue then cover the plateau as far as the eye can see.
To make the most of your visit, we recommend setting out early in the morning or in the late afternoon. These times of day offer soft, golden light, ideal for photography. Plus, you’ll avoid the intense heat and crowds. Don’t forget to bring water, a hat, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the strong sun in the south of France!

Take the opportunity to explore the village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, often considered one of the most beautiful in France.
