Marseille prepares for a historic moment! On Sunday, December 7, 2025, the Orange Vélodrome will vibrate to the rhythm of The Universe League, an unprecedented concept combining legendary soccer and large-scale musical shows. It’s definitely Christmas in Marseille.
An ambition signed Zidane and the Kings League
Marseille icon and world soccer figure, Zinédine Zidane, will be the ambassador of this grand premiere. The project is the brainchild of Universe Football, founded by Ryad Zidane and Naïl Ouaret, in close collaboration with Gerard Piqué’s Kings League. Together, they imagined a spectacular event capable of bringing together and inflaming the 67,000 spectators expected to attend.
The Universe League celebrates both the heritage of soccer and its transformation into a truly forward-looking sports show.
An extraordinary sporting and musical program
The Velodrome will host four exceptional matches, culminating in a Kings League match. This 7-a-side soccer format, with its innovative rules and frenetic tempo, guarantees non-stop entertainment.
Soccer fans will also be treated to two legends’ matches. A number of big names will be taking to the pitch in Marseille: Didier Drogba, Dimitri Payet, Robert Pirès, Blaise Matuidi and many more. Two promising fixtures have already been confirmed: the eagerly-awaited Marseille-Paris match, and the Madrid-Barcelona classic.
A celebrity match will round off the evening, bringing together artists and personalities for a sporting and festive occasion.
On the music front, four shows will electrify the Universe League. The first headliners have already been announced: Marseille rapper Alonzo and star Soolking will open the show. Other renowned artists will be announced shortly, promising an explosive atmosphere from start to finish.
A strong commitment to children
Beyond the show itself, The Universe League carries a profound message of solidarity. The organizers support the Marseilles-based association Des Coccinelles Rouges pour Thomas, which provides day-to-day support for children suffering from cancer and rare diseases.
Every ticket sold will contribute directly to the cause: €1 will be donated to the association. Shirts worn during the matches will also be auctioned, with all proceeds going to fund the association’s solidarity projects.
