Finding the street with the longest name in Marseille was a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. But we succeeded. While there’s obviously one big winner, other names of boulevards, traffic circles and crossroads have an impressive number of letters. These include the well-known Corniche Président-John-Fitzgerald-Kennedy and Rue du Lieutenant-Jean-Bernard-Meschi. But neither has the longest name!

The street with the longest name in Marseille is none other than the Première-Armée-Française-Rhin-et-Danube traffic circle. This little traffic circle with the longest name is located in Marseille’s 15th arrondissement and honors a regiment that fought in the Second World War.
