The ghost of the Opéra is you. You’ve hardly ever been there. It has to be said that tickets aren’t cheap… Let’s face it: opera is an art form reserved for the elite. The good news is that on the second weekend of May, from May 9 to 11 2025, it’s Tous à l’ Opéra ! The magnanimous Opéra de Marseille is offering you the chance to visit its premises free of charge for the weekend!
29 French opera houses are taking part in this initiative launched by the French Ministry of Culture and the Réunion des Opéras de France. The aim is to democratize access to the universal art of opera. There are no restrictions, no conditions: everyone can benefit. And that’s even if you’re not a regular… So are you tempted?
The program for the 18th edition
Marseillais, get ready for a unique cultural experience! From May 9 to 11, the 2025 edition of “Tous à l’Opéra” plunges you into the fascinating world of “Melting-Pot“, a bold, modern theme that celebrates the fusion of arts, cultures and influences.
This year, it’s the turn of an exceptional duo: Marina Viotti, a mezzo-soprano with an incredible career, and François Chaignaud, an innovative choreographer and dancer, join forces to embody the values of this edition, between diversity and solidarity. Together, they will offer a unique show where opera meets dance and the most varied sounds. Melting-Pot” is a perfect illustration of the evolution of modern society, where opera becomes the mirror of human diversity and unity.
Come and enjoy an experience in which opera and choreography merge to create a vibrantly creative stage. An unmissable event for all those who want to celebrate the richness of contemporary culture and the emotion of live performance.
