Opera is set to shine in Marseille. On Saturday, May 9, the Marseille Opera House will join the national “Tous à l’Opéra” initiative by opening its doors to the public free of charge. During this celebratory weekend, visitors are invited to explore behind the scenes of this prestigious institution through a rich program of workshops and guided tours.
The 19th edition under the banner of “Jeunesses”
Launched by the Ministry of Culture and the Réunion des Opéras de France, this initiative brings together 29 institutions across France. Its goal remains unchanged: to make opera accessible to all and allow everyone—whether a newcomer or a passionate fan—to step inside these exceptional architectural gems.
The 2026 edition of “Tous à l’Opéra” revolves around an inspiring theme: Youth. This theme highlights the generational renewal and creative vitality that animate opera stages today.
To embody this momentum, the event is supported by two exceptional patrons. Marie Oppert, soprano and member of the Comédie-Française, and Neïma Naouri, a performer with an eclectic repertoire. Together, they symbolize the diversity of artistic paths and artistic solidarity. Their commitment reflects the institution’s desire to bridge tradition and modernity, offering a live performance where disciplines intertwine to celebrate contemporary culture.
