On June 21, 2026, Marseille comes alive to the rhythm of the Fête de la Musique. This iconic early-summer event celebrates music in all its forms and features a multitude of concerts and events (some of which are free) throughout the city. Here’s the schedule for a weekend dedicated to music!
The atmosphere in the Old Port pubs
For Music Day, the iconic pubs lining the Old Port —such as Le Little Temple Bar and Le Queen Victoria —turn into music stages. Local bands and DJs perform in a setting well-known to both locals and tourists. Whether it’s rock, pop, electronic, or world music, there’s something for everyone.
An open-air house music event at Fort Saint-Jean
A wild atmosphere with a breathtaking view of Marseille? That’s what Say Less has in store as it takes over the Café du Fort Saint-Jean for Music Day this Sunday, June 21. On the program: house-influenced DJ sets and an unforgettable night!
A Bad Bunny night presented by ELRED
The closing night of the first edition of the El Red Music Beach Festival promises to be a blast! The Red Lion in Marseille is hosting a special Bad Bunny night with DJ Trackworks on the decks. It’s sure to have us singing and dancing to all of Bad Bunny’s biggest hits and the genre’s greatest classics.
Music stages along the pedestrian-only Corniche Kennedy
Music Day takes over the Corniche Kennedy this Sunday as part of the “Voie est Libre” event. Enjoy Marseille’s coastline on foot and with music, featuring five stages spread along the entire route! Whether it’s Latin, disco, electronic, urban music, or dance hits, there’s something for everyone.
DJ sets on the tram
When it comes to unique spots to celebrate Music Day in Marseille, the tram is definitely one of our favorites. This year, the Delta Festival and RTM are teaming up for a one-of-a-kind event: the Delta Express, a moving dance floor featuring high-energy DJ sets.
A bachata class and DJ set at Docks Village
Place des Canailles takes over Docks Village for a vibrant evening! Place de la Joliette will come alive to Latin beats with an XXL bachata class starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by a DJ set and a live percussion performance. And don’t forget— Happy Hour is on all evening!
The festivities on the Cours Julien
Renowned for its bohemian atmosphere and numerous bars and restaurants, the Cours Julien is even more festive on June 21. Stages spring up everywhere, hosting a variety of artists, from hip-hop to reggae to French chanson. A musical stroll through this artistic neighborhood is a must-do experience for music lovers.
A free concert by the Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra at the Opera House
The Marseille Opera joins the festivities and presents a free concert by the Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra. A majestic program honoring the great masters of Romanticism, featuring Carl Maria von Weber and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The event begins at 4 p.m.; registration is required.
A rooftop bar and an open-air dance hall for dancing at the Rowing Club
This year, the Rowing Club is thinking big and has teamed up with Les Jardins Suspendus to celebrate Fête de la Musique. A festive open-air party by the water from 3 p.m. to midnight and a rooftop with a panoramic view from 4 p.m. to midnight await you this Sunday, June 21.
Music Festival at the Citadel
Music Festival at the Citadel of Marseille returns for an even more diverse 5th edition. Completely free and eclectic, the event features a program celebrating a mix of genres. Gospel choirs, jazz concerts, and even klezmer music and dance await music lovers in Marseille. Not to mention introductory workshops (registration required) on DJing, singing, and Yiddish and Gospel dance.
