An intimate look into the life of a legend

This is an event sure to thrill rock fans — the exhibition “Freddie Mercury: Never Say Goodbye” is coming to the Hôtel de Lagoy in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, from April 11 to October 11, 2026. Designed as a true journey into the artist’s private world, it offers much more than a simple retrospective.
From the very first rooms, the tone is set: this is not merely about retracing a career, but about telling a story. Through 130 photographs— some of them never before seen— visitors discover different facets of Freddie Mercury, captured notably by photographer Denis O’Regan during the legendary 1986 Wembley concert.
But what makes the exhibition truly unique is its narrative thread. Rather than following a traditional chronology, the exhibition is guided by the singer’s childhood memories, recounted by his close friends Ibrahim and Mustapha. This more personal approach gradually reveals the man behind the icon, creating a more direct connection with the visitor.
Icons, a recreated atmosphere, and unique experiences
during his 1988 Bad Tour, a rare piece that immediately catches the eye.
Then, as the visit unfolds, the experience becomes almost sensory with the recreation of Garden Lodge, Freddie Mercury’s London home. A setting that naturally extends the tour and gives the impression of stepping into his daily life. And to extend the experience beyond the exhibition halls, the event continues throughout the summer in the courtyard of the Hôtel de Lagoy with an exclusive opera evening dedicated to the album *Barcelona*, created with Montserrat Caballé. A way to conclude the visit with music, in an intimate setting.
Open to everyone and designed to be explored at your own pace, this exhibition promises to be one of the cultural highlights of the season in Provence. A wonderful outing, whether you’re a longtime fan or simply curious to rediscover a legend in a new light.
