Dear Marseillais(es), get ready! In May 2025, Marseille will be vibrating to the sound of jazz! To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary Marseille Jazz des cinq continents festival, a brand-new springtime event awaits you: Ici Jazz Fest! This capsule, participatory and resolutely Marseillaisevent will take place over four days !The whole city will be transformed into a lively, surprising and welcoming stage, where 25 unusual venues will host 25 concerts, featuring all the richness of the local jazz scene. Doesn’t that sound exciting?
A convivial festival in the image of Marseille
In Marseille, we don’t pretend to know jazz… we live it!
A lively, popular and inclusive culture , jazz is deeply rooted in the city’s diversity. From intimate clubs to Mediterranean balls, it has been a vibrant part of everyday life in Marseille for decades.
Ici Jazz Fest is also a tribute to Marseille, its people and its artists. Forget the big stages and over-the-top installations, and make way for authenticity andencounters, for jazz in its rawest form . Musicians will take over intimate and original venues to offer unique and sincere musical moments. Thanks to two calls for submissions, a rich and varied program has emerged, carefully selected by a joint committee, and one thing’s for sure: it promises to be exceptional!
A rhythmic program for every moment of the day
To mark the symbolic date of 25.05.25, Ici Jazz Fest will take the form of a four-daymusical marathon. From the most confidential to the most festive, the dates will follow one another in an eclectic and open atmosphere. With 25 concerts in 25 venues, this unique festival will showcase the richness and diversity of Marseille’s jazz scene. In all, over 100 artists are expected to perform, welcoming between 3,000 and 5,000 spectators over the course of the event.
Concerts at atypical times, designed to appeal to all audiences, will punctuate this special edition: at sunrise, snack time, afterwork or under the stars… jazz will invite itself everywhere and at all times! In the same way, the program will take over venues in every district of Marseilleto offer even greater diversity. Private gardens, cultural venues, public spaces or health establishments: each venue will host a unique moment in a spirit of proximity.
And the best part? All concerts will be free of charge, and reservations are required , as many venues will offer small (and sometimes very small) audiences.
