If there’s one thing the Marseillais know how to do, it’s party. And there’s nothing like a good festival to get you singing, dancing and having funa good festival. Just the thing: the Fiesta des Suds returns in autumn for a 33rd edition full of color and good music.
Since 1992, this cult event has established itself as a space for inclusion, sharing and diversity. These values are also reflected in the musical Program: the organizers feature music from all over the world. But while a change of scenery is guaranteed, the Fiesta des Suds refuses to play the game of one-upmanship when it comes to headliners. On the contrary, the team has clearly understood that difference is strength, and is banking on a line-up focused on musical discovery, highlighting artists not necessarily found elsewhere.
World music takes center stage at Fiesta des Suds
From October 10 to 13, you’ll be able to vibrate to the deep prose of MC Solaar, sing along to the iconic songs of Olivia Ruiz, and let yourself be lulled by the silky folk and soul of Ayo. A true legend of African music, and a benchmark of Afropop and Afrobeat, Angélique Kidjo will also be present for an exceptional concert with the large choirs of La Cité des Marmots in the Paris region.
In addition to these big names, you can also enjoy Seun Kuti, the son of Afrobeat pioneer Seun Kuti, the artist who reinvents raï on electro productions, Sami Galbi, and Flavia Coelho, who will bewitch you with her Brazilian sounds. And for the queens and kings of the dance floor, the party continues on Saturday October 12 at Dock des Suds from midnight. Don’t wait any longer, as some tickets are already sold out: more info and festival tickets here.
Can’t wait any longer? La Fiesta des Suds is already looking forward to seeing you on August 23 on the roof terrace of La Friche for its Fiesta on Air to get you in the mood with Sami Galbi (live) and Selecta Will (DJ set).
