When it comes to festivals, Utopia takes the cake! Every year at the start of the school year, a neighborhood in Marseille transforms into an imaginary city dedicated to electronic music. Head to the Friche la Belle de Mai on September 25 and 26, 2026, for the 6th editionof Utopia Festival, the event that has established itself as THE must-attend electronic music festival in Marseille.
An extraordinary industrial setting
What makesUtopia Festival stand out—even before its lineup—is its setting. The festival is held in a former tobacco factory that was repurposed in 1992—a massive 45, 000 m² site that now welcomes nearly 450,000 visitors annually across all events. A venue steeped in history, blending industrial wastelands with contemporary architecture, it gives the festival a visual and auditory identity that’s truly one of a kind.
On-site, the lineup unfolds across four iconic venues, with the Cabaret Aléatoire at its heart— the only SMAC ( Contemporary Music Venue) in France exclusively dedicated to electronic music. In fact, this venue has organized the festival since its inception. The setting is designed as a true temporary city, where each venue has its own atmosphere, soundscape, and audience.

Since 2021, a success story that continues to grow
Launched in September 2021, Utopia Festival quickly drew over 10,000 festivalgoers in a single edition, driven by strong values: diversity, inclusion, independence, and creativity—values that directly reflect Marseille’s identity. The festival positions itself as a genuine cultural and political project, with a lineup that highlights a strong representation of women—a far cry from the all-male lineups still all too common on the electronic music scene.
The 2026 Lineup: A Mix of International Headliners and Local Talent
For this 6th edition, Utopia Festival has really cranked it up! On the lineup: melodic techno, groovy techno, hard techno, sunny house, and futuristic ambient, with artists set to get the site’s four stages rocking for two full nights.
Confirmed headliners include Colin Benders, Leo Pol, Vera Grace, EARGASM GOD, Justine Perry, and Paralich, joined by previously announced acts such as Jack de Marseille, as well as Brookesia, Evänder, and LÄUFF. The lineup blends local talent and international artists with a high standard of quality.
